Daniel is an avid volunteer in the Jewish community and beyond. He serves as the president of Congregation Or Torah, the synagogue he attends with his three children. He helps children and teens find their place in sports as the head basketball coach and co-captain of the softball team at Hillel Torah North Suburban Day School. He is also involved with NCSY's national planning and has a local role as the Emcee at Midwest NCSY.

During the pandemic, Daniel stepped up to be the volunteer director for the Community Vaccine Alliance, where he created a system to find and train over 600 volunteers. Through his solid teamwork and efficient planning, he helped administer more than 10,000 COVID-19 shots in such an effective way that he inspired organizers in other communities to use his model.

Described as humble and eager to work with others, Daniel has had a major impact on Chicago's Jewish community and beyond by bringing people together for a common good.
