David Rosenberg

David Rosenberg is a vital leader in the Chicago Jewish community who practices what he preaches. David is the President of CityPAC, a Chicago-based pro-Israel political action committee aimed at getting young adults engaged in US-Israeli politics and advocacy.

Thanks in no small part to David's efforts, CityPAC is now one of the largest pro-Israel political action committees for young adults in the country. He spends all his free time working to ensure that the Jewish community in Chicago, as well as around the world, is thriving and getting stronger every day.

There is no better representative for the Chicago Jewish community than David, and his hard work and dedication shine through in every challenge he takes on.

ON THE SIDE:
I am the president of CityPAC, a bipartisan, pro-Israel political action committee based in Chicago that meets with and supports politicians all over the country to strengthen the US-Israel relationship. To give back to my old high school, I also joined the coaching staff of the Highland Park High School football team.

HOW DO YOU GIVE BACK:
I am very fortunate to have been raised in a family that embodies the best of Jewish values, and I have always sought to emulate my parents’ commitment to tzedakah by volunteering my time and resources toward the Jewish and pro-Israel community. Knowing the important role that CityPAC has played in my own life, I have worked hard to ensure that other young adults in the Chicago area would feel similarly empowered to take part in the political arena. I’d like to think that the mindset of thinking of others before oneself has manifested its way into my work life, my volunteer life, and my family life.

SOMETHING MOST PEOPLE DON’T KNOW ABOUT ME:
I recently spearheaded an effort to gather and send Jewish prayer books and tallitot to the Abayudaya, a small Jewish community in Uganda. Sending large shipments to rural Uganda is surprisingly challenging!

A JEW WHO INSPIRES YOU:
My grandparents—all of blessed memory—continue to inspire me. Almost immediately after surviving the Holocaust, my paternal grandfather served as a delegate to the 22nd World Zionist Congress in 1946, during which David Ben Gurion outlined his plans for the establishment of the State of Israel. Each of my four grandparents was an ardent Zionist with strong Jewish values that have been passed down within my family.
