Ever since moving to Chicago from Dallas two years ago, Benjamin Pisik has steeped himself in our community. Although he spends his days working as an accountant/auditor and many nights as a Second City improviser, Benjamin also finds countless ways to volunteer and support Jewish organizations.

At Little Brothers - Friends of the Elderly, Benjamin meets twice a month with Marion, an elder in her 80s, to schmooze and bring more social interaction to her day. He also mentors a 15-year-old high school student through HFS Chicago and even leads free monthly walking tours of downtown to hostel-goers visiting the Windy City.

In the Jewish world, Benjamin sits on the YLD Pride Committee and offers his financial expertise on the Texas A&M Hillel Board of Directors. He can be spotted at Temple Sholom, Chabad of East Lakeview and Old Town Moishe House.

SOMETHING MOST PEOPLE DON’T KNOW ABOUT ME:
After regularly attending Chabad of Texas A&M University, I taught the Rabbi’s three children piano for over two years. I’m proud that I was able to introduce the joy of music into their lives.

IF TIME AND MONEY WERE LIMITLESS, I WOULD:
Work to develop a technology that would allow everyone to travel the world affordably. Travel has been such an instrumental part of my life, giving me a range of different perspectives and experiences I would never experience at home. Using this technology, I would also require everyone to come to Chicago and try a slice of Lou Malnati’s deep dish pizza, as it would be a crime for someone to live their life without experiencing the culinary perfection that is Chicago pizza.
